Gearhart also is home to McMenamins Sand Trap Bar & Grill. It overlooks Gearhart Golf Links and has large wood burning fireplaces and a full bar.
Nearby, is an old-fashioned bowling alley, Gearhart Bowl & Fultano’s Pizza! Fultano’s offers homestyle pizza and are happy to provide gluten-free pizza crusts.
Twenty-miles of pristine coast with dunes bordering it. Spot elk, clam, fish, build a bonfire, surf, let your dog run and relax. You can also drive your vehicle on the sand all the way north to Fort Stevens State Park.
Gearhart’s beach offers a perfect opportunity to gather your own dinner. Dig for Razor Clams. Clean them in your kitchen. Grill them for dinner! All at the Gearhart Ocean Inn. We offer complimentary clam digging equipment for our guest’s use. Ask our Innkeeper about helpful tips on digging, cleaning and preparing your clams.
Go for a Round of Golf
There are three public courses within three miles of Gearhart. The historic Gearhart Golf Links is modeled after the classic links in Scotland. Play around with friends or join a foursome and make new friends on the course. Our Innkeeper is happy to call ahead for a Tee Time, especially on weekends and during the summer months. Play Tennis & Basketball
Public tennis and basketball courts are located on a historic estate just one block from our Inn. We offer complimentary racquets and tennis balls.
With wide, quiet streets, and miles of sand, bike riding is safe and fun in Gearhart. We have complimentary beach cruiser bikes with baskets and helmets for our teenage and adult guests.
Explore the Necanicum Estuary:
Hike and observe nature’s most abundant wildlife habitat. The Necanicum Estuary is located between Gearhart and Seaside on the northern Oregon coast where the Necanicum River enters the Pacific Ocean.
Walk the Historic Ridge Path:
Just a block away from the Inn, guests can access the 3-mile Ridge Path and follow it behind the dunes and classic homes.
Celebrate the Fourth of July:
Enjoy our classic small town “Fourth of July Parade” complete with local and visiting children on their red, white and blue decorated bicycles and wagons. The parade “marches” from North Marion Avenue to the Volunteer Fire Station on Pacific Way. Everyone is treated to complimentary hot dogs, chips, and a homemade cake decorated as an American flag.
